I went to a trunk show and spotted a piece of jewelry that I liked but hated the colors so decided to try my hand. Don’t ask me what started this, I guess you could call it a ‘flash-in-the-pan.’
The first step was to make the ring and after a coupe of false starts, and a brief (amazing) tutorial from Lindsay at White Fox Beads I was on my way (I’ll take a close up shot of the ring later so you can ooooh & ahhhh! over it – I love it)
Then I needed to string all my beads – I already had tons of black & white, I just needed the right kind of string! Once again White Fox Beads to the rescue and this time Michelle. If you need anything to do with beads, stringing, wires, pearls, classes, WHATEVER, these gals can get you kitted out and on your way lickety split.
Now, just in case you were wondering. The ‘almost’ in the title is because prior to this necklace venture I had made a couple of pairs of Christmas earrings. Not for sale and definitely not conventional. What can I say, I’m impatient. I didn’t have the right skills to make “proper” earrings, nor the correct findings, wires, pliers, etc., nor the time or inclination to get same. So I got creative instead. I’ll write a post about what I made and how I made them into earrings! Watch this space.
